Why Cash-Free?

Naked Farmer began in the middle of the global pandemic in 2020. Our first location was scheduled to open in downtown St. Petersburg on April 1. However, due to coronavirus restrictions that prevented us from opening our physical doors (restaurants were closed, and new ones weren’t supposed to open), we instead opened our digital doors by launching an online farmers market, focusing on the delivery and pickup of locally sourced vegetables from nearby farms. At a time when real food was literally flying off the shelves in grocery stores, we knew we had found our calling.

Once we were finally able to open our restaurant’s physical doors, local municipalities prohibited the exchange of cash to prevent the spread of germs through physical contact. Since then, we have experienced the benefits of remaining cash-free in our high-traffic restaurants.

Cashless Payment Benefits:

Speed & Efficiency

Cash-free transactions are typically faster than cash transactions. Customers spend less time waiting in line, which is especially valuable in a busy restaurant where quick service is essential.

Convenience

Most guests prefer using digital payment methods like credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, or contactless payments like Apple Pay. A cash-free environment aligns with their preferences, making the payment process faster during peak lunch or dinner service.

Improved Team Member Security

Carrying cash can be risky for restaurant teams due to the potential for loss or theft. Cash-free payments reduce this risk, providing a safer employee experience. Instead of spending time managing cash, we can focus on cooking & serving delicious food.

Only have cash?

We’re happy to provide change back in the form of a Naked Farmer gift card for future use at any of our locations.
