Why Locally-Sourced Food?
It's a question we get a lot — and honestly, we love it.
Why go through all the effort to source food locally? Because real food shouldn't be hard to find. At Naked Farmer, we define "local" as farms located within the Southeast US — and we think that matters more than most people realize.
A local food system is a more resilient one. When the distance between a farm and your fork shrinks, everything gets better — the flavor, the nutrients, the footprint. Food picked recently enough to still carry its full set of nutrients. Harvested nearby to keep transportation to a minimum. Cooked by chefs who actually know their vegetables. That's the standard we hold ourselves to, every single day.
We were built to stand at the intersection of community and economy. Our supply chain is rooted in farms across Florida and the greater Southeast — small and medium-size operations run by people we know on a first-name basis. We use our buying power intentionally, supporting sustainable growing practices and investing in the future of farming because we believe that's how you build something worth believing in.
This is how we build a better local economy. A better local food supply. And meals made from ingredients harvested days — not weeks — ago.
We call it the Naked Way.
None of this happens without you. Your support is what makes our work possible, and we're grateful every day to share this journey toward 100% local sourcing with you.
