Nashville, Meet Naked Farmer

This summer, we packed our bags (and plenty of vegetables) and headed to Music City.

Naked Farmer is officially in Nashville, with two new homes: one near downtown in the Arcade and another in The Gulch.

These are our first restaurants in Tennessee, and another step forward in our mission to build a better food system—one locally-sourced Plate at a time.

Why Nashville?

We’ve always believed that where we grow matters just as much as how we grow.

Nashville felt like a natural next home for Naked Farmer. It’s a city that cares about good food, supports the people behind it, and sits within a region full of farmers and growers doing incredible work.

That gives us the opportunity to do what we do best: build relationships with farms close to home, cook with what’s growing around us, and connect more people to the food being grown in their own region.

It also means becoming part of a new community. From the people we’ve met downtown to our neighbors in The Gulch, Nashville has already given us a pretty warm welcome.

We’re excited to return the favor—with plenty of vegetables.

Putting Down Roots in Tennessee

For us, entering a new city starts long before we open the doors.

It starts with finding the farmers and producers doing great work nearby. Getting to know what grows here. Understanding the seasons. And figuring out how we can bring more of that food onto our plates.

Because our approach has always been pretty simple: source as close to home as possible, cook from scratch, and let the seasons do their thing.

Nashville gave us plenty to work with.

Meet One of Our Nashville Farmers

One of our first local relationships in Tennessee is with Greener Roots, an urban hydroponic farm growing greens right here in Nashville.

If you've eaten with us in Nashville, there's a good chance you've already tasted some of their work.

We recently got to bring that relationship full circle at our Chef's Table in The Gulch, where William from Greener Roots joined our Founder, Jordan Johnson, and Culinary Director, Chef Gabe, for dinner. William shared more about how Greener Roots grows, why hydroponic farming matters, and the work that happens before those greens ever make it onto your plate.

That's the stuff we get excited about.

Knowing our farmers by name. Understanding where our ingredients come from. And giving our guests a closer look at the people behind their food.

Two Nashville Neighborhoods, One Mission

We opened our first Nashville restaurant at 217 4th Ave N in the historic Arcade, bringing Naked Farmer to the heart of downtown. The Arcade itself dates back to 1903 and is being reimagined as a destination for local and regional restaurants, shops, artists, and more.

A couple months later, we put down a second set of roots at 620 8th Ave S in Paseo South Gulch.

Different neighborhoods, same Naked Farmer.

Seasonal vegetables take the lead. Our food is cooked from scratch. Our menu rolls with the seasons. And we’re continuing to build relationships with farms across Tennessee and the surrounding region so more of what we serve can be grown close to home.

We’re still new around here, but we’re already feeling the love. To everyone who’s stopped in for lunch, joined us around the Chef’s Table, told a friend about us, or simply given the new guys a shot—thank you.

We’re happy to be here, Nashville.

And we're just getting started.

See you at the fa(r)m,

Jordan
